Very special series. It is not live action and it is not animation. It is somewhere in between. Motion Comic it is called. Real actors are used to make stills that are edited in a smooth way and where the actors act with voice overs what their characters do. These stills are supplemented with drawn parts. A strange mix of real actors and anime. But very nice to see once. And with 8 episodes of about 5 to 6 minutes you have watched it in no time. Incidentally, three of the actors (Jewel Staite, David Hewlett and Rainbow Sun Franks) all played in Stargate Atlantis. And the lady who voices the intro (Torri Higginson) also comes from here.
The series is said to be originally interactive and was released for Google Glass, among others. The YouTube episodes are however linear.

The term Motion Comic is quite apt, because it is like a moving photo comic book. Interesting design, although I don't know if I would want to see a long-term series of it.
