Sunny

Nice mystery series, from Apple TV, about an American woman who, after the disappearance of her Japanese husband, goes in search of the cause of the disappearance. The series is set in the near future in Japan and is partly Japanese and partly American spoken. The fact that they can understand each other is due to translation devices that they have in their ears.
Also futuristic is the namesake of the series Sunny, who is an advanced "homebot", a robot that helps with the housework. But Sunny turns out to be capable of much more and, together with her "owner", becomes the target of the Yakuza, the Japanese mafia.
When the series starts, Suzie is in deep mourning because she has lost her husband and son. Then, unexpectedly, she is given Sunny. At first, she doesn't want anything to do with it, but eventually she accepts the bot. When all sorts of strange things start happening, it turns out that Sunny is more than just a regular homebot.

It remains fairly unclear for a while what exactly is going on. But the series has a nice pace and did not bore me. The episodes are generally just a little longer than half an hour. All in all nice entertainment. I only hope that there will be a sequel. Because the last episode ends with a big cliffhanger and the story is definitely not finished.
