Hulu's The Artful Dodger gets teaser trailer and poster

Hulu is offering an exclusive look at the first images and key artwork of its Australian Original The Artful Dodger, starring Thomas Brodie-Sangster, David Thewlis and Maia Mitchell.
The series is billed as an irreverent sequel to Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist, exploring the adult double life of the famous prince of thieves. The series is set in 1850s Australia, where Jack Dawkins, aka the young villain The Artful Dodger (Brodie-Sangster, The Queen's Gambit), is now an adult and has transferred his skills as a pickpocket to the nimble fingers of a surgeon.

The series premieres Wednesday, November 29 on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ in Australia.

His past comes back to haunt him with the arrival of Fagin (Thewlis, Landscapers), who lures him back into a world of crime, while the local governor's daughter (Mitchell, Good Trouble), who is determined to become the first female surgeon of the colony seems to be a bigger threat, at least to his heart.

The eight-episode series is "a story of reinvention, betrayal, redemption and love with a twist," also starring Damon Herriman (Justified), Miranda Tapsell (Doctor Doctor (2016)) and Tim Minchin (Californication).

The series was created by James McNamara, David Maher and David Taylor as a co-production with Sony Pictures Television's Curio Pictures and produced by Beach Road Pictures. Jo Porter produces for Curio Pictures, alongside David Maher and David Taylor of Beach Road Pictures.

Corrie Chen (New Gold Mountain) and Gracie Otto (The Clearing) direct the series, with Jeffrey Walker (Young Rock) serving as third director. The series is written by James McNamara, Andrew Knight, Vivienne Walshe and Dan Knight, with Miranda Tapsell as story consultant.
