Second season of The Bear takes record for FX on Hulu

Second season of The Bear takes record for FX on Hulu

Yes, chef. Things are getting more and more exciting for season two of FX's The Bear on Hulu.
The full second season of the half-hour dramedy kicked off on the streamer on Thursday, June 22. Since then, the season two debut has become the highest-watched premiere of any FX series on Hulu.

The Bear

The Bear has also made significant progress from last season, with a 70% increase in total hours streamed from the first season after the first four days of viewing. The first season was the highest-watched comedy series in FX history, and season two now looks poised to break that record.

The Bear follows Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), a young chef from the culinary world, who returns to Chicago to run his sandwich shop - The Original Beef of Chicagoland - after a heartbreaking death in his family. A world away from what he's used to, Carmy must balance the soul-crushing realities of small business ownership, his strong-willed and recalcitrant kitchen staff, and his strained family relationships, all while grappling with the aftermath of suicide. from his brother.

In season two, the crew works to transform their sleazy sandwich shop into a top-shelf place. As they strip the diner to its core, the crew embarks on their own transformational journey, each forced to confront the past and rethink who they want to be in the future.

FX's The Bear was created by Christopher Storer (Ramy), who serves as an executive producer along with Joanna Calo (BoJack Horseman, Undone), Hiro Murai (Atlanta, Station Eleven) from Super Frog, Josh Senior and Matty Matheson, with Tyson Bidner ( Ramy) as producer. The series is produced by FX Productions.

Lead actor White recently earned a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his role of Carmy.

Understandable :) After season 1 my expectations were high! Fortunately, these have more than come true. What a great second season! While the first season mainly focuses on Carmy, the other chefs get more screen time in the second season. The story is again good and it is very surprising that many well-known actors come along for a guest role or cameo. What I love most about this season is Richie's character arc! I really enjoyed The Bear again and hope that many people will become acquainted with this great series!

I hear a lot of good things about this series. And with half-hour episodes, it is also a nice bite-sized chunk. I'll give season 1 a try.

Unfortunately, this isn't for me. I stopped after 1.5 episodes. I don't understand what it's about and I'm just watching a bunch of foul-mouthed and completely unsympathetic characters. I also couldn't find the "dy" part from dramady. Not once did I even have a smile on my face. It's a far cry in humor from "Chef!" with Lenny Henry.

That it's not for you and for many others that's possible because luckily we don't all have the same taste and / or interests, but comparing it to a Chef!, a British comedy series from the 90s, eludes me in this one. But indeed Chef! a fun sitcom.

They both take place in a kitchen and they are both (more or less) comedies ;-)
