fter Hughie Campbell’s (Quaid) love becomes collateral damage to one of the Supes of The Seven, he teams up with Billy Butcher (Urban) and his gang of vigilantes called “The Boys.” Now they’re out to expose the truth about superheroes, and about Vought — the multi-billion dollar conglomerate that both manages the Superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets.
Simon Pegg (photo) will return to portray the father of Hughie (Jack Quaid). Pegg portrayed the character in the first and third seasons of The Boys. Earlier this year, the actor could be seen in the limited British thriller series The Undeclared War.
Rosemarie DeWitt will portray Hughie's mother. DeWitt starred next to Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington in the limited Hulu series Little Fires Everywhere. She also had a main role in the Showtime comedy series United States of Tara, featuring Toni Collette.
The characters that will be portrayed by Elliot Knight and Rob Benedict have not yet been revealed. Knight is a British actor who had main roles in the The CW comedy series Life Sentence, the CBS mystery series American Gothic (starring Anthony 'Homelander' Starr), and ABC's Once Upon a Time. Benedict became known in the 90s due to his role in the drama series Felicity and had a number of guest roles in series such as House M.D., CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Shameless (US), Bosch, Lucifer, and Supernatural afterward.
Earlier, it had been revealed that Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Susan Heyward and Valorie Curry had joined the cast. Cameron Crovetti, who returns as Homelander's son, has been promoted to a main cast member.
A premiere date for the fourth season is yet to be announced.
