I've seen the series. The 8 episodes cover two stories of four episodes each. Based on the books by the Israeli writer DA Mishani. The books are set in Tel Aviv, but New York was chosen as the location for the TV series. I expected something more from the spiritual and mystical side of the story. These elements are only present in small quantities. The actors and actresses do their job well and Hans Zimmer's music fits well with the somewhat dark stories. All in all I thought it was a good series. There are two cliffhangers that could point to a second season.

I just watched the first three episodes and think it's a very somber and dark series. I expected that the detective's 'special powers' would be used more and that the series would be a bit more cheerful and light-hearted, but I haven't seen that yet. Too bad, because this is the last episode I watched of this series.
