Channel 4 and Starz drop trailer for The Couple Next Door

Channel 4 and Starz released the trailer for The Couple Next Door, the psychological thriller based on the Dutch drama series Nieuwe Buren. The trailer provides a first look at Evie (Eleanor Tomlinson, Poldark) and Pete (Alfred Enoch, Foundation (2021)), who move to a posh neighborhood but soon find themselves in a world of curtain-pulling and status anxiety. They find friendship in the form of the couple next to them, alpha traffic cop Danny (Sam Heughan, Outlander) and his wife, the glamorous yoga instructor Becka (Jessica De Gouw, Underground), who soon become sexually entwined in a way that... will change lives forever.



Deadline unveiled the high-profile project for the British broadcaster and American streamer earlier this year and has since broken the news that Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered) and Kate Robbins (Unforgotten) have joined the cast.

The Couple Next Door will premiere on Channel 4 in the UK and will be available on Starz in the US and Canada, as well as Lionsgate+, the international streaming streamer in Latin America, including Brazil. Over the weekend, Starz revealed it is closing its UK branch as it lays off 10% of its staff.

The Couple Next Door is produced by Walter Iuzzolino's Eagle Eye Drama. Jo McGrath, Iuzzolino and Alison Kee are the executive producers and Jen Burnet is the producer. It was commissioned for Channel 4 by Rebecca Holdsworth, Drama Commissioning Editor.

Karen Bailey, EVP of Programming, is the executive overseer of The Couple Next Door for Starz. Filming took place in Leeds and Belgium earlier this year and specific broadcast details will be announced very soon. Beta Film will distribute the series internationally.
