Season 6 of The Expanse has a release date

Amazon Prime Video has announced when the long-awaited sixth and final season of The Expanse is going to release.

The announcement came from the cast and executive producers during the series' panel at the New York Comic-Con, which is now available for streaming on the NYCC website. The first episode of the sixth season will premiere on the 10th of December, after which a new episode will be released each Friday. The highlight will be the legendary final episode, which will release on the 14th of January in 2022. The six-season episode will be a Prime Video exclusive globally. It is produced by Alcon Television Group.

The sixth and final season of The Expanse begins with a solar system at war, when Marco Inaros and his Free Navy continue to launch destructive asteroids on Earth and Mars. As the tensions of war and loss threaten to pull the crew of the Rocinante apart, Chrisjen Avasarala makes a bold move and sends former marine Bobbie Draper on a secret mission that could turn the tide. In the meanwhile, in the Belt, Drummer and what's left of her family are on the run after Marco's betrayal. On a far planet beyond the Rings, a new power is on the rise.

The stars of the series are Steven Strait, Dominique Tipper, Wes Chatham, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Cara Gee, Frankie Adams, Keon Alexander, Nadine Nicole and Jasai Chase Owens.
