The Letter for the King at Netflix in March

The Letter for the King is a fantasy series by Netflix, based on the Dutch youth book De Brief voor de Koning by Tonke Dragt. The young Tiuri (David Wenham) breaks the rules in The Letter for the King, which determines that he may not talk to anyone the night before he will be dubbed a knight. He is requested to deliver a letter and it appears to be a very dangerous assignment. Tiuri is being chased by evil Red Riders, who threaten him with death. But he is determined to bring the most important letter to King Unauwen.

Pieter Verhoeff already filmed the book The Letter for the King in 2008. In the summer of 2018, the Dutch publisher Leopold announced that the international television rights had been sold to the British producer FilmWave. They turned it into a large-scale English-language series for Netflix. Actors such as Islam Bouakkaz (Arman) and Jack Barton (Foldo) were cast. Production started in New Zealand in 2018.

A trailer has since been published and The Letter for the King will be released on Netflix on the 20th of March. The series consists of six episodes.
