BBC America has revealed that the fantasy series The Watch is set to premiere next year. The series features Richard Dormer (Game of Thrones), amongst others. In 2018, BBC America ordered the fantasy series The Watch (2020), which is based on the books from Discworld by Sir Terry Pratchett. BBC America has now also revealed that the series is set to premiere in January 2021. An exact date has not yet been revealed.
The Watch revolves around a group of outsiders, called The City watch. They solve mysteries and have to save the world. Richard Dormer (
Fortitude), Lara Rossi (
Crossing Lines), Adam Hugill (Pennyworth), Marama Corlett (
Sick Note) and Jo Eaton-Kent (Don't Forget the Driver) will portray lead characters in the series. Simon Allen (
The Musketeers) wrote the series and will also serve as executive producer.
