New cast members, including Walton Goggins, for The White Lotus season three

Walton Goggins, Aimee Lou Wood, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sarah Catherine Hook and Sam Nivola are the newest additions to the third season of Mike White's The White Lotus. In the third season, set in Thailand, the quintet joins previously cast Leslie Bibb (Jupiter's Legacy), Jason Isaacs (Star Trek: Discovery), Michelle Monaghan (Echoes), Carrie Coon (The Gilded Age), Parker Posey (Lost in Space (2018)), Dom Hetrakul, Tayme Thapthimthong, Miloš Biković, Christian Friedel (Babylon Berlin), Morgana O'Reilly (The Sounds), Lek Patravadi, Shalini Peiris (The Ark) and the returning Natasha Rothwell ( Insecure) from the first season.



Like Coon, known for HBO's The Gilded Age, Goggins (pictured) can also be seen in another HBO series, The Righteous Gemstones, with The White Lotus' production schedule fitting in with the filming dates of their other series.

Additionally, The White Lotus reunites Schwarzenegger with HBO following his starring role in the limited series The Staircase. The actor was recently seen in Prime Video's Gen V, the spin-off of The Boys.

Goggins previously had roles in Sons of Anarchy, Justified, I'm a Virgo, The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, Deep State and Six, among others. Aimee Lou Wood appeared in Netflix's YA series Sex Education. Sarah Catherine Hook played (guest) roles in First Kill, NOS4A2, American Crime Story and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, among others. Sam Nivola had a role last year in the Bradley Cooper-directed Maestro, a biographical film about composer Leonard Bernstein, in which Cooper starred alongside Carey Mulligan, Matt Bomer, Maya Hawke and Sarah Silverman.

Season three of The White Lotus, which begins filming in February in and around Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok, follows a new group of guests at another White Lotus hotel.

As usual, no details about the guests are shared, but as revealed in November, the group consists of several generations, including a patriarch, a female director, an actress, a few mothers, including a country club woman, a maverick and a yoga fanatic.

Hook would play the misfit, Schwarzenegger's character would be involved in finance.

HBO has partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to film and promote the third season.

Following the season two finale in December 2022, White said season three will explore "death in Eastern religion and spirituality."

“It’s going to be a supersized White Lotus,” he said about the new installment this past November. “It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier.”

Season three was originally scheduled for 2024, but has now been pushed back to 2025 due to strike-related delays.

The first season of The White Lotus, which premiered in July 2021 and was set in Hawaii, received twenty Emmy nominations in thirteen categories and won ten awards, the most wins of any program that year, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.

The second season, which was set in Sicily and aired in December 2022, received 23 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, and won five, including Outstanding Supporting Actress In a Drama Series for Coolidge and Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series.

The White Lotus was created, written and directed by White and is produced by White, David Bernad and Mark Kamine.
