Good series with a fantastic Ruth Wilson. Although it is a fictional story, it is based on the terrible exploitation of, often young, girls in the so-called Magdalena laundries. This occurred not only in Ireland, but almost worldwide and continued well into the 20th century. This series gives an idea of how great the consequences and impact on those involved have been. . The series starts very strangely with Wilson waking up in her nightgown on a country road, surrounded by cows. Then you're already like, what's happening here? Then even more strange things happen, including the woman in the wall, which is the title of this series. . Fortunately, during the series it becomes a bit clearer what is going on and what the causes are. On the one hand it is a fairly heavy drama, but it certainly also has thriller elements that made me want to keep watching. . As mentioned, Wilson plays fantastic here. Completely different role than in Luther (Alice Morgan) or His Dark Materials (Marisa Coulter). Here she plays an exhausted but driven woman who is determined to get justice and the truth about her stolen baby. It is a truly compelling series that is also very easy to binge due to the relatively small number of episodes. . Recommended! . With many thanks to Futsudo who brought this series to my attention under the column "From supporting role to audience favorite - Alice Morgan" :-)
