McNulty is back! Well, back… This time his name isn't McNulty, his name is Noah, and he's fighting not the drug-infested streets of Baltimore in The Wire, but the straitjacket called married life in The Affair. Also exciting. However? At least I think so. Noah has it so good at first sight. He wakes up every morning next to a beautiful lady, has four kids running around in his New York brownstone who seem to be quite normal, and has written a book that sells so well that he has at least part of the bills with it. can pay. A small portion. A tiny portion. Nice work, Noah! Yet there is a slumbering discontent within him. And what do men do when they are dormantly dissatisfied? Exactly! They buy a car without a roof, a hairpiece or porridges with girls who could just as easily have been their daughter. Noah goes for door number three and, while on vacation with his in-laws, gets involved in an affair with the waitress at the local snack shack. As the squabble takes on more seriousness, it turns out that Noah and Alison aren't just trying to hide their romance from the outside world. If this isn't a cliffhanger, then I don't know what is. There's something about The Affair. You don't know exactly what's wrong, but something is simmering on the surface. Something ominous. Disaster that is actually already hidden in the mysterious title song by Fiona Apple. The series takes all the time to loosen the frayed sweater painfully slowly, but somehow that never gets boring. The set-up in which the story is actually told twice – once from Alison's perspective and once from Noah's – is not disturbing for a moment. One to immerse yourself in and only come up when the climax is reached.

What a gem Showtime delivers again. S4 starts strong again, after 3 episodes I'm completely in it again !! What a wonderful series the affair is.

One of the very best seasons (S01) I've seen this year. Fantastic actors, sublime script, nice dark atmosphere and oh so addictive !!!
