Despite the poor ratings, CBS has decided to order two more episodes of ‘The McCarthys’. That brings the total of episodes to 15 for the first season.
‘The McCarthys’ revolves around a sports-crazed family from Boston. Athletically-challenged and gay son Ronny (Tyler Ritter) plans to finally move away to start his own life. Those plans are thrown into turmoil when his basketball coach dad (Jack McGee) offers him a job as assistant coach — much to the dismay of Ronny’s siblings. The sitcom also stars Laurie Metcalf, Jimmy Dunn, Joey McIntyre, and Kelen Coleman.
Two more episodes are nice for the fans, but it is very likely that the series will be cancelled in the spring. Currently ‘The McCarthys’ gets an average of only 6.53 million viewers, which is CBS's lowest-rated sitcom by far. These ratings are far below the average of the recently-cancelled new sitcom ‘The Millers’.
What do you think, do you hope that the ratings will improve and that ‘The McCarthys’ will be renewed?
