The Originals

The Originals is a horror series on The CW. The series will premiere October 3 2013, The series was tested as a backdoor-pilot in The Vampire Diaires on April 24th 2013.

In the backdoor-pilot Klaus returned to the French part of New Orleans, where many supernatural forms come together. A city Klaus helped building centuries ago and where he will be reunited with his devil protégé Marcel.

Chronologically, the new "Originals" premiere will follow the backdoor pilot. That episode -- and everything that happened in it -- will still exist in the show's universe. The purpose of the new premiere is instead to move the story forward and to introduce the characters and concepts to new viewers who may not have watched "The Vampire Diaries" in the past.
