De serie vertelt het verhaal van Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, het hoofd van het Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. Hij en zijn team moeten de mysterieuze uitbraak van een virus dat vampirisme lijkt te veroorzaken, onderzoeken. Terwijl het virus zich verspreidt, moeten Eph en zijn team een oorlog uitvechten die het lot van de mensheid bepaalt.

Season 2 makes no sense anymore, I have the feeling that the makers of the “The Strain” never thought there would be a second season. From now on we have money, actors but no script, so we come up with something ourselves on the spot. Half of season 2 is therefore filled with episodes that purely serve as filling, in addition, there are constantly illogical things, also in the last episode. Season 3 is actually even weaker

just read that FX has ordered a fourth and final season of this series. although since the pilot it actually became less and less with this series, I now hope that fewer side roads will be taken. hopefully they will soon be back to the level of the book trilogy. in my opinion the pilot remains the strongest episode. but I wonder if they will immediately follow the master's plan or if they will give it their own twist again.
