Oh goodness, a vampire series. We didn't have that yet

If it's been accepted in music for a long time to have guilty pleasures, why can't we make that an official thing for series watching too? Then Grays Anatomy is my U Sure Do, Friday Night Lights my Club Tropicana and I now add The Strain to that list as my Never Gonna Give You up. Because let's be honest, it's not really all that good, but somehow I sat on the couch every Monday with a smile. If you don't like zombie-like figures who slurp the blood from their victims in a completely over the top way, then you can leave The Strain well, because that is exactly what it is. Growling, limping blood-guzzlers who, after a virus infection, cause an apocalypse with New York as the epic center. Of course there are also a number of people who try to suppress all this misery. You'll have to see for yourself whether that will work. Try to overlook the fact that director Guillermo del Toro - the director of Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy - does a very ridiculous impersonation of Evil, that the script rattles here and there more than my girlfriend's ovaries after watching again such a cute baby photo in her Facebook timeline and that this story has of course already been told in 100 other films and series, but then you have a great pastime with The Strain. But hey, I'm also going well on Rick Astley, so what does it all mean.
