Christopher Lee dies

His full name was Christopher Frank Carandini Lee, but he became famous as Christopher Lee as Count Dracula in numerous Dracula movies, as Francisco Scaramanga in the James Bond movie The Man With the Golden Gun and as Saruman in the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. Lee died on Sunday 7 June 2015 in his place of birth London. Several weeks before, he was admitted to hospital for heart failure and breathing problems. On his last birthday, 27 May, he was in the hospital.

Lee played his first television role in 1946-1947 in de series ‘Kaleidoscope’. Then he played in many movies to resurface on television in 1954. He got world fame in 1958 as Count Dracula in the Dracula movie. He played many guest roles in series like ‘The Avengers’, ‘Charlie's Angels’, ‘How the West Was Won’, ‘The Tomorrow People’, ‘Street Gear’, ‘Ivanhoe (1997)’ and ‘Soul Music’. Lee played in the movie ‘Angels of Notting Hill’ in 2014 and he was due to play a part in the 2016 film ‘The 11th’.

Christopher Lee was 93 years old and is survived by his wife Gitte Lee and daughter Christina Erika Lee.
