John Krasinski and Wendell Pierce are signing on for a Jack Ryan movie from Amazon

It looks like Amazon MGM Studios and John Krasinski aren't ready to say goodbye to Jack Ryan just yet.
The studio is developing a new feature film starring Krasinski as the next step in the franchise's evolution. Wendell Pierce (pictured center), who starred alongside Krasinski (pictured left) in the 2018-23 television series, will also star and Michael Kelly (pictured right) is in negotiations to reprise his lead role.

Andrew Bernstein, who served as executive producer and director on season two of the Prime Video series, directs the film from a script by Aaron Rabin, who served as co-executive producer and writer on season four.

Krasinski and Allyson Seeger produce via Sunday Night. Andrew Form also produces. The film is produced in association with Paramount Pictures and Skydance, with David Ellison and Dana Goldberg executive producing alongside John Kelly and Carlton Cuse.

The film will be an extension of the Amazon MGM Studios, Paramount Television and Skydance original series Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, with Krasinski starring as Clancy's iconic character. Following the release of the final two episodes of the series' fourth and final season, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan has garnered 1.15 billion viewing minutes, according to Nielsen. With four seasons, the series ranks first among the three most watched series on Prime Video worldwide.

John Krasinski recently released IF for Paramount Pictures, in which he starred, wrote, produced and directed. The film opened at number 1 and stars Ryan Reynolds and Matt Damon. Krasinski previously co-wrote and directed and starred in A Quiet Place, an Oscar-nominated film from Paramount. The film premiered to critical acclaim and was named one of AFI's Top 10 Films of the Year and the National Board of Review's Top Films of 2018, while also overperforming at the box office.

Following the success of A Quiet Place, Krasinski released its follow-up A Quiet Place: Part II, which he also wrote and directed. He also produced A Quiet Place: Day One, with Michel Sarnoski directing, which was the best horror film of 2024.

Pierce also stars in the hit CBS drama Elsbeth, based on the character from The Good Wife and The Good Fight, and in season three of Starz series Power Book III: Raising Kanan. He was recently cast in the upcoming Superman film for James Gunn.

Kelly is best known for his four-time Emmy-nominated role as Doug Stamper in the Netflix series House of Cards (2013), in which he starred in all six seasons. Kelly stars alongside Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldana in Taylor Sheridan's series Lioness from Paramount+ and in HBO Max's The Penguin alongside Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti.

Bernstein recently directed multiple episodes of Welcome to Derry, with Andy and Barbara Muschietti as producers, for HBO, and the first season of The Diplomat (US) for Netflix. He previously had an overall deal with HBO under which he served as executive producer and director on The Nevers.
