British crime series Vienna Blood, which features Matthew Beard (Kiss Me First), has been renewed with a second season.Vienna Blood has been renewed by the German ZDF and the Austrian ORF. Other networks that are part of the production process are BBC Two and PBS. Steve Thompson (Sherlock) will write the second season, and Robert Dornhelm (War and Peace) will direct it. The second season is expected to release next year, as production is set to begin next month.
In Vienna Blood, Dr Max Liebermann (Matthew Beard, Kiss Me First) is recruited by the Viennese police to help find the murdered of a young woman. The series is an adaptation of the book with the same name from Frank Tallis.
