Bertie Carvel will present the new series, which will take viewers into the world of dinosaurs. BBC revealed more about the upcoming series in the press release below:
"PBS and BBC today announced the release of the first trailer for the new six-part series Walking with Dinosaurs (2025). A thrilling reimagining of one of BBC’s most beloved series, Walking with Dinosaurs (2025) is a major new production from BBC Studios. The series is a co-production with ZDF and France Télévisions.
Premiering in the U.S. on Monday, June 16 at 8 p.m. ET on PBS, PBS.org, and the PBS app, Walking with Dinosaurs (2025) takes viewers on a unique journey back in time to reveal the incredible life stories of these long-lost giants.
Narrated by Bertie Carvel, each episode of Walking with Dinosaurs (2025) tells the dramatic story of an individual dinosaur whose remains are currently being excavated by the world’s greatest dinosaur hunters. Cutting-edge science is allowing experts to reveal more accurately how these prehistoric creatures lived, hunted, fought, and died than ever before. As dinosaur bones emerge from the ground, the series brings these prehistoric stories to life with cutting-edge visual effects—making each episode a compelling dinosaur drama based on the latest evidence.
Over the course of six episodes, audiences will be introduced to a range of spectacular dinosaur species in a variety of prehistoric landscapes. Think Spinosaurus – the largest carnivorous dinosaur ever to walk the Earth – roaming the rivers of ancient Morocco; a young Triceratops taking on a ravenous T. rex in North America; and a lonely giant Lusotitan risking everything for love in Portugal.
There’s never been a better time to travel back in time. We’re living in a golden age of palaeontology that’s transforming our understanding of dinosaurs. Around 50 new species are identified each year, and science is revealing extraordinary new details about dinosaur biology and behaviour. Hundreds of dinosaur experts are currently scouring the wilderness for new dig sites around the world, and this series has exclusive access to some of the very best.
“Twenty-five years ago, WALKING WITH DINOSAURS changed the way we viewed the prehistoric world. With this exciting reimagining, we’re proud to partner with the BBC and invite viewers to witness the awe-inspiring lives of these incredible creatures once again,” said Sylvia Bugg, PBS Chief Programming Executive and General Manager, General Audience Programming. “With groundbreaking science and state-of-the-art visual effects, the dramatic life stories of these ancient giants will be seen like never before.”
