Welkom in Amsterdam

Welkom in Amsterdam is an Dutch comedy series which is aired on NTR. The series premiered on October 19th, 2025.

After the series "Welcome to the 70s and 80s," the NTR now presents "Welcome to Amsterdam." This new historical comedy by Niek Barendsen celebrates the birthday of our capital city. We take a quick look back over 750 years: from the first settlement on the IJ River to the rolling suitcases of today; from the eel riots to the squatter riots of the 1980s; and from the construction of the first dam to the construction of the canal belt, to Artis Royal Zoo and Vondelpark. We meet many well-known Amsterdammers from then and now, such as Rembrandt van Rijn, the gentlemen of the Night Watch, Spinoza, Sarphati, Tuschinski, Bet van Beeren, Aletta Jacobs, Louis Davids, André Hazes, Heintje Davids, and Johan Cruyff.
