Wäldern

Wäldern is a German crime series which aired on Das Erste. The series premiered on September 18, 2024.

In the small town of Walden, young residents keep disappearing under mysterious circumstances. One of them is Magda, the niece of the pianist Lara Glanz (Rosalie Thomass). She returns to her old hometown and takes a job as a teacher. She also searches for Magda on her own, whose disappearance seems increasingly mysterious. But other incidents in the town also puzzle Lara. Ultimately, she finds herself confronted with forces that seem to come from outside of this world. Lara finds allies in her search in the esoterically gifted Dorothea Freiberg (Sabine Vitua) and the oddball Professor Rudolf Klein (Peter Franke). The three have no idea what forces they will have to face. Suddenly it becomes clear: Lara herself plays a very central role in this mystery.
