Details about how they enter Young Sheldon's story are not yet known. This will be the first time their characters have been reunited in person after The Big Bang Theory finale, which aired in May 2019.
Young Sheldon is a prequel series to The Big Bang Theory and follows Sheldon's character during his younger years. Parsons played him as an adult in The Big Bang Theory and Ian Armitage brought him to life in Young Sheldon.
Young Sheldon is a once-in-a-generation genius capable of advanced math and science, which isn't always helpful in a country where church and football are king. And while the vulnerable, gifted and somewhat naive Sheldon deals with the world, his very normal family must find a way to deal with him.
In addition to Armitage, the film also stars Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, Emily Osment and Jim Parsons (as the voice of Sheldon).
The prequel series premiered as the No. 1 new comedy of the 2017-2018 television season and became the No. 1 comedy of the 2019-2020 season after The Big Bang Theory concluded. Young Sheldon is currently the No. 1 comedy on television since the series launched in its seventh and final season.
Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, Steve Holland, Nick Bakay, Jim Parsons and Todd Spiewak serve as executive producers. Young Sheldon is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
Thanks to the franchise's continued popularity, a new spin-off recently launched that follows Young Sheldon characters Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) as they raise their young family in Texas while dealing with the challenges of adulthood, parenthood and enter into marriage. The project was created by Lorre, Steven Molaro and Steve Holland.
