Arcadia is een Belgische/Nederlandse sciencefictionserie van de zender Een/KRO-NCRV. De serie ging in première op 19 maart 2023.
Na een grote catastrofe ontstaat een nieuwe samenleving, Arcadia. Omdat grondstoffen schaars geworden zijn, wordt een puntensysteem geïntroduceerd: de Burgerscore. Die bepaalt wat je kan en mag doen in deze maatschappij, en waar je als burger recht op hebt.
'Arcadia' volgt een gezagsgetrouwe familie die dankzij haar hoge score een goed leven kan leiden. Maar alles verandert wanneer aan het licht komt dat de vader van de familie gefraudeerd heeft om de Burgerscore van twee van zijn dochters hoog te houden. Hij wil hen zo beschermen tegen een wereld waarin alles afhangt van hun score. Als straf wordt hij uit Arcadia verbannen naar de buitenwereld, die quasi onbewoonbaar is en waar alleen de sterksten kunnen overleven. Zijn vrouw en vier dochters blijven alleen achter en krijgen strafpunten voor zijn fraude. Ze komen terecht in een kluwen van bedrog en verraad, waarbij de solidariteit tussen de vrouwen steeds meer op de proef wordt gesteld. Kiezen ze voor zichzelf of elkaar?

I've now seen 3 episodes. You really nail the series. Don't expect crazy special effects, but the story is beautiful, well played and the idea of a techno-dystopian society is well represented.

It is futuristic with unnecessary talking elevator doors and lockers that report that they are open / closed. It is very similar to the old East Germany, the Stasi culture, controlling and betraying each other is the theme here. Like many modern series, of course a lesbian relationship between a white and dark girl. Also a mixed hetero relationship between a white man and a dark woman. Very inclusive if you are not a black man?!

Watched the first episode. I watch a lot of American SF films and series. It takes some getting used to and getting into the story, because I still have the feeling that the outsider is walking in the Loonse dunes. It takes courage in the Netherlands to make something like this with limited budgets. Will it be believable and will I be drawn into the story? I'll definitely give it a chance.

I've seen them all and it's just a major disappointment in every respect. It's supposed to be sometime in the future, but all I've seen is that we're somewhere in the past with Russian situations. Sorry for the time, but not everything can be good. Also a waste of money (1 million per episode).

Good series with tension and conspiracies, you have to get used to the different characters, but in the end you get the hang of it, Luz in particular is a funny character; very curious about Season 2

Sooo ... seen the 2nd season. I found the 1st season boring at first but I like survival series so I kept watching. I found the acting a bit disappointing but I like Monic Hendrickx so I kept watching. All in all I thought season 1 wasn't that bad after all. Season 2 surprised me, a good storyline, exciting, lots of murders, mysteries that are unraveled and the actors were much better in their roles. Yes ... definitely worth it. The ending could in principle also be a conclusion of the series but I still hope for a 3rd season because there are still some ??? that can be addressed in the 3rd season.
