Boardwalk Empire is een Amerikaanse misdaadserie van HBO. De serie ging in première op 19 september 2010.
Boardwalk Empire is gebaseerd op de roman Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City van schrijver Nelson Johnson.
Boardwalk Empire speelt zich af aan het begin van de 20ste eeuw in Atlantic City. Een stad die als een trekpleister voor toeristen begon, groeit in geen tijd uit tot de bakermat van corruptie, gokken en prostitutie. Boardwalk Empire volgt het leven van corrupte Republikeinse politici Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi, bekend van onder ander "The Sopranos").
Ook spelen Kelly MacDonald (No Country For Old Men), Michael Pitt (Silk), Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road), Vincent Piazza (Assassination of a High School President) en Dabney Coleman (Stuart Little) in Boardwalk Empire.
Zowel Van Patten als Winter schreven en regisseerde meerdere afleveringen voor The Sopranos. Martin Scorsese was te zien in een kleine cameo in die serie en z'n dochter Cathy was set dresser voor The Sopranos. Hoofdrolspeler Steve Buscemi speelde dan weer de rol van Tony Blundetto en regisseerde ook enkele afleveringen.

I have now watched 6 episodes of the first season, but I really like the series. Sometimes beautiful dialogues and the atmosphere that is put down is really fantastic.

Amazing series, which immediately becomes a lot less beautiful after the death of jimmy .. is perhaps also because during the series you hope at a moment when jimmy will take the reins, the opposite happened .. But all in all certainly a recommended!

Great series! Excellent acting with fantastic dialogue. It has everything that makes a series so good! Is very addictive. As far as I'm concerned, you just have to tolerate Breaking Bad, but that's the mother of all series!!
