The English network ITV announced that Broadchurch will get a second season. The first season has been compared to Forbrydelsen and is a real success for ITV. The start of the first season had 9.1 million viewers and with a market share of 31% that is excellent. After Downton Abbey Broadchurch is the best new drama for ITV. The first season had it's finale last monday on ITV.
So it isn't surprising ITV has given a second season to the series. The last episode had 9.3 million viewers. The second season will be filmed in 2014. There is no word yet about cast or content.
