The second season has now been completed and the series is just as addictive as before. She has now given it a new look. Intrigue, betrayal and lies, the struggle for power is still rife in Dallas. Unfortunately from half way into series 2 henceforth without JR (Larry Hagman) Literally practically died in Harness.
Today I watched the very last episode of the third season. A season full of suspense and intrigue, I was completely absorbed in it and I am very sorry that the series has ended, especially with the open ending. I had hoped for at least a fourth and even more seasons. I enjoyed it. A big Dallas fan forever.
Extremely scandalous that Dallas was dumped by TNT after season 3, even though the rights are with Warner Bros. The series had very good reviews. Despite good viewing figures, the number of viewers in the third season, incomprehensibly, decreased, at least according to TNT !!!!! They had now worked towards a fourth season and that was also noticeable in the fortieth and final episode. Not an open end, the plug has simply been pulled out, so don't rush to the store to purchase these forty episodes. You are left with an unprecedented hangover. Are TNT / Warner Bros. now also so sporty to get this, otherwise excellent series, from store shelves worldwide ???? Put your precious money in Breaking Bad, for example, and leave Dallas 2012 on the shelves. Offering a half-delivered product for full price almost smells like a scam!
Dalles was definitely the hit of the 80s. It wouldn't surprise me if this also becomes a viewing figure gun, especially the first episodes, after that we have to wait and see how the series develops.
It's still ridiculous in the USA that even with relatively short seasons, the season continues to be split into two parts so that you take almost a year over 13 episodes.
When the series started in 1978 (I was 12 at the time) I watched all seasons until 1991 when the series ended, never missed an episode!!! When I heard that Dallas would start back I didn't hesitate and I'm hooked again, today I watched the last episode of season 2 and I admit it remains exciting. With the passing of JR I did shed a tear, what an icon.
Had already seen the show before it appeared on the tube in the Netherlands last September. Now that the second series starts in 5 days, I wonder if a third season will be made at all. After all, the supreme villain, who carries the series anyway, breathed his last last year.. And if you ask me, there is no one who can match JR Ewing....
