Dark Winds casts Isabel Deroy-Olson and Luke Barnett for fourth season

Isabel Deroy-Olson and Luke Barnett have joined the cast of AMC and AMC+'s Dark Winds for season four.
The acclaimed crime thriller Dark Winds, based on the Leaphorn & Chee novels by Tony Hillerman, will return for a fourth season in 2026. Filming is currently underway in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the season will consist of eight one-hour episodes.

Isabel Deroy-Olson

The story continues to take place in 1971 in the Navajo Nation, near Monument Valley. Season four broadens the perspective, with newcomers navigating a world of cultural identity, mystery, and survival.

The series continues to follow the story of Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) and his deputy Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon), who must confront both personal demons and sinister crimes. The series is gritty, compelling, and steeped in Navajo culture.

Luke Barnett

Isabel Deroy-Olson stars as Billie Tsosie, a sharp and determined Navajo teen who is pulled out of her boarding school by her cousin. What begins as an attempt to reconnect with her roots quickly turns into a dangerous adventure where only her wits and resilience save her.

Luke Barnett stars as FBI agent Toby Shaw, who arrives to solve the mystery of a missing friend. In contrast to the often hostile portrayal of the FBI in reservation cases, he develops an unexpected bond with Leaphorn, Chee, and Bernadette Manuelito (Jessica Matten).

Deroy-Olson previously starred as Kara Two-Rivers in Prime Video's Three Pines with Alfred Molina. She also has a role in HBO's upcoming IT: Welcome to Derry. Luke Barnett has guest starred in Apple TV+'s For All Mankind and Fox's 9-1-1: Lone Star, among others.
