AMC+ reveals start date and teaser for Dark Winds season four

The long-awaited fourth season of the noir thriller series Dark Winds is set to premiere soon on AMC and AMC+.
In addition to the premiere date, the first teaser has also been released, giving a glimpse of Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn's (Zahn McClarnon) latest case. The teaser was first shown during the premiere of Anne Rice's Talamasca: The Secret Order.

In the teaser, Leaphorn says: "I had this badge for four years before I saw my first murder. Now it seems like it happens every day. It's tough to carry it all."

In season four, the story revolves around the search for a missing Navajo girl, which takes Leaphorn (McClarnon), Chee (Kiowa Gordon), and Manuelito (Jessica Matten) from the safety of the Navajo reservation to the gritty Los Angeles of the 1970s. They become embroiled in a race against time to save her from an obsessive killer with ties to organized crime.

The series follows Leaphorn, Chee, and Manuelito of the Navajo Tribal Police, who face increasingly violent crimes on their territory in the 1970s. Robert Redford and George R. R. Martin return as executive producers. Deanna Taushi Allison also returns as Emma Leaphorn.

Newcomers in the fourth season include Franka Potente as Irene Vaggan, Isabel Deroy-Olson as Billie Tsosie, Chaske Spencer as Sonny, Luke Barnett as FBI agent Toby Shaw, and Titus Welliver as Dominic McNair. Additionally, A Martinez returns as acting police chief Gordo Sena of the Scarborough Police Department.

Dark Winds is based on the Leaphorn & Chee book series by Tony Hillerman and was developed by Graham Roland (Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, Fringe). John Wirth (Hell On Wheels, Hap and Leonard) serves as showrunner.

Dark Winds season four premieres on Sunday, February 15 at 9:00 PM on AMC and AMC+. Watch the teaser below.

Great news! This is one of my favorite crime series. I do hope the atmosphere of the series doesn't change too much if it's set in a big city. The Navajo Land setting is precisely what makes it a unique series.
