De Jacht is a Dutch crime series which aired on SBS 6. The series premiered on May 23, 2016.
In the forest are found the corpses of a number of young women. The case is assigned to the young, but diligent and thorough, Detective Lea Smith. It calls on the help of ex-forensic psychologist Thomas David.
Contrary to the previous reactions, I am enthusiastic about the series. I have now seen 4 episodes and I think it is something different from the other Dutch crime series (Baantjer, Moordvrouw, Smeris, Flikken, etc.). Maybe at times predictable indeed, but no less exciting! I also think there is good acting, especially by Fedja van Huêt and Loes Haverkort. I will definitely look further!
I agree with IngKel. This series has a completely different atmosphere than the standard Dutch series. These are also very predictable, so I think that's a fallacy of those who tear down this series. Fedja van Huêt plays very strong, worthy of the Golden Calf. I'll be watching episodes 5 and 6 tonight.
An 8 or a 7? The last. Much better than Baantjer, for example. More depth. Better story. Fairly acted. But sometimes cringingly unbelievable. And that is a shame. Brings things down. The story is rushed. Together it does not match the original
Have just seen the first episode via Kijk and am curious about the next episode. After 1 episode do not judge what I think is good or bad about a series.
