This book has been filmed before, but now that the team that also made The Queens Gambit is taking a chance, I had high expectations. They were met 100%. What a great series! Beautiful acting, beautifully filmed and a plot that slowly meandered at first, but then became more and more exciting. My sweetheart was literally on the edge of her seat in the last episode, I hadn't seen that very often. The action has been moved to Scotland, where the story of Department Q takes place.

And not unimportant in the summer months, when you nestle in front of the television at 8:00 PM and there is still plenty of daylight outside, this series has very few dark scenes. It is a dark crime novel and the book was also Swedish or Danish, sure, but without all that typical Scandinavian-crime-darkness. I found it refreshing and delightful.
