Dept.
This book has been filmed before, but now that the team that also made The Queens Gambit is taking a chance, I had high expectations. They were met 100%. What a great series! Beautiful acting, beautifully filmed and a plot that slowly meandered at first, but then became more and more exciting. My sweetheart was literally on the edge of her seat in the last episode, I hadn't seen that very often. The action has been moved to Scotland, where the story of Department Q takes place.
And not unimportant in the summer months, when you nestle in front of the television at 8:00 PM and there is still plenty of daylight outside, this series has very few dark scenes. It is a dark crime novel and the book was also Swedish or Danish, sure, but without all that typical Scandinavian-crime-darkness. I found it refreshing and delightful.
Wow what a top series. This really touches the level of The Killing and Bridge. Top acting. The dialogues become sharper and more captivating as the series progresses. On to S02
I found the series disappointing. The acting is top-notch, but I think it could have been at least one episode shorter. The final episodes are incredibly suspenseful, but there are just a few things that don't add up. The Danish version is definitely better.
Very good series, starts a bit slow but then it gets going. Keep your head in the game because the story is good and when it gets exciting many stories come together to form a coherent whole.
I feel like this series has a rough start. When it does restart, the investigations are slow to get going.
Once it gets going, some exciting and mysterious things happen here and there. While I initially thought I wouldn't finish the series, it still keeps me captivated. I'm now curious to see what happens next.
