If you like Baantjer you will like Dicte. After the super Danish series like Borgen, Forbrydelsen, they completely miss the point with Dicte... too bad!
After seeing 2 episodes of the third season, I have the feeling that this series should have stopped at the end of the second season because this is just a shadow of what the series was. Firstly, it is a very predictable and thin story that is hung up in these two episodes, but on top of that it is just as poorly executed and in which you see some plot twists, as far as worthy of the name, either from afar or totally unbelievable. For example, in a bad attempt to make the whole thing right, Dicte suddenly has a rich and blackmailable dad and the makers believe that their viewers are very gullible and let everything go down their throats. If there is anyone who still believes that in these times of terrorist threat you will briefly board a plane to Syria with two suitcases full of dollars, I urgently invite this person to try that for themselves as soon as possible. But before you leave, make sure to set your decoder for the next 10 years or so because you might otherwise miss a few episodes of your favorite series. Without going into further detail, I can only say that the start of Season 3 is simply disappointing. The fact that my score for this series is still so high is only because I always give a score per season and the first two parts were quite enjoyable. However, that does not alter the fact that Dicte's head is on my hood block and if the series does not completely repack in the next episode, the plug will go out inexorably.
You should not compare the series with eg Borgen of the Killing. If you watch with that attitude, it's a great series. A bit of humor (especially that bumbling police officer). Have part 1, definitely going to buy part 2.
is a good series but I agree with leonietje, because of her one-sided action it is sometimes irritating what she does. but again a good scandinavian series
Going through life as a Scandinavian series creator must be almost unbearable, right? How the hell can you live up to all those sky-high expectations? I can already picture the conversations on random get-2 gettas. “Øøøøh wåt lēūk, dūs yj bedënkt seriės before the kōst? Should I just think about Borgen or will I still be in the style of Arvingerne?”. Impossible. But just as not every kid who kicks a homemade ball of Gaffer tape in the favelas is immediately the new Ronaldo, not every Danish scriptwriter conjures the new Bron|Broen or Forbrydelsen out of his or her top hat on command. Dicte is proof of the latter. Already when you hear the somewhat corny theme song you know that you are dealing with a different kind of cake. Not a dirty cookie, but certainly not that deliciously sticky gingerbread with a thick layer of butter and sugar candy along the edges for some extra crunch. Crime journalist Dicte is one of those 36.2% who cannot live out their marriage to the bitter end. When things hit the rocks, she decides to close the door in Copenhagen and return to her hometown of Aarhus. “But what is she supposed to do there? There is nothing to experience in all of Aarhus”, I hear you think. Well, that's a bit more nuanced. From the moment Dicte lifts the first moving boxes from the moving van, one after the other drops dead in Aarhus. Great, because Dicte can write about that and with those articles she can pay the rent. It's not all happy ever after, because Dicte still has some corpses in the closet and they roll out one by one as the series progresses. If you are a big fan and buyer of Scandinavian products, then you can add this to your collection. If you have yet to take your first steps in Danish and Swedish lazy country, I would first start with works of art like Borgen, Bron|Broen, Arvingerne and Forbrydelsen before you make time for this in your busy schedule.
