May AMC burn in hell, because they have tried to pour an American sauce over a series that everyone can see that it needs no further perfection. So watch Forbrydelsen and not The Killing! The Killing is the stubborn grease stain on Sarah Lund's newly knitted Norwegian sweater. Sarah wants to live with her new boyfriend in Sweden. Don't blame her. Then a girl dies. Sarah doesn't like loose ends. Not on her sweater, not on her work. So she's staying for a while to fix that shit. Go Sarah!
Part 1: an episode every night. That kept the tension going for me, an episode every week would definitely not be pleasant. A great series. Part 2: also an episode every evening. A little less than part 1. Part 2: also an episode every evening. Again similar to part 1.
Season 1 was super good Season 2 was partly in the cloud dis not being able to follow now but started with Sezoen 3 there should be some income again but so far very spanned. 1 recommendation.! ! !
I got this series on DVD last year and decided to give it a go. The 8s, 9s and 10s are flying around your ears for this series, so it must be something, right? Unfortunately, I am personally a bit disappointed. I am still busy with the first season, which in my opinion is taking way too long. 20 episodes for 1 murder? That sounds like stalling. And it is. Each suspect gets 4 or 5 episodes in which their life is more or less ruined, before it might not be the wanted person after all. That is fun once, but the repetition takes away the power. I am now at episode 14 and I really think "hurry up".
The main character Sarah Lund makes super weird decisions that are really hard to follow. If you are going to emigrate with your loved one, how do you let it happen that everything is postponed because of your work? For a boss where you are the last time that day? I don't get it. All the characters will be "real" people, but there is no one I really feel a connection with. Except maybe with Jan because he is very clear about what he thinks.
I will watch the series and am very curious about whodunnit, but I actually expected more from it. This is certainly not Bridge of Millenium.
What an unsatisfactory ending to season 1. In my opinion, the ultimate perpetrator was only added to create a "surprise" ending. It all makes no sense, especially not the last few episodes. It's also unbelievable that people with such tunnel vision come up with theories based on hardly any evidence and then fully commit to them without looking at other things. And in the meantime, without looking at the consequences, completely destroy people's lives. Really, these people are not really good at their job. No, this series disappoints me greatly. It's because I already have the other two seasons, otherwise I wouldn't watch them anymore I think.
I found the second season a bit more watchable than the first. Two important advantages: 1. The story is told in half the number of episodes (10 instead of 20) and is therefore more to the point and less stretched out. 2. Lund wears a clean sweater every now and then :-)
Furthermore, I found the ending just as rushed as the first season. Several storylines aren't truly wrapped up, but at most, there's a hint at how they might end. The political story in particular. And here too, I found the ultimate perpetrator illogical and not really apparent from all the previous hints and storylines. Now let's see how the third season goes, but I honestly don't understand the enormous appreciation for this series.
I heard a lot of good stories about this series.. so I thought: okay, let's watch the "authentic" Danish version and not the USA remake. Something different again. It um.. was a long sit. Season 2 doesn't have 20 but 20 episodes, so that's saying something. All in all, I thought it was a bit bland. Sometimes very slow and then finally comes a cliffhanger at the end. The denouement should have been worked out more.
a bit strange that she constantly walks around in the same jersey while in the beginning the jersey was quite damaged and torn. Furthermore, definitely a good series.
