Of all the medium-related series, I think Ghost Whisperer is the best and that is of course because of Jennifer Love Hewitt. She really is one of those "you love her or you hate her" people. I belong to the first category. Jennifer herself lost her dad early, just like her character in the series, Melinda Gordon, and I suspect she has invested a lot in this series, since she also produced it herself from the second season. And the series became a success! Some episodes are a bit inferior, I admit, but the best episodes are really top television. Unpretentious and with a heart for the characters and small-town life in the US. It is also touching to see how Jim (but also the actor who portrays him) operates in the shadow of his wife Melinda and her many many ghosts. His role is actually limited to supporter, sounding board and sex partner. Very recognizable for all strong men behind a successful woman (grin). I have already seen this series twice and will undoubtedly watch it again, because it is simply my favorite guilty pleasure series of all time. I can't get enough of Grandview, of Melinda and the ghosts that populate her world...
