NCIS: Origins has cast a younger version of Dwayne Pride, the character played by Scott Bakula in NCIS: New Orleans.

Shea Buckner takes on the role and will soon appear in an episode of the CBS prequel series. In this version of the story, Dwayne Pride is a former deputy sheriff and a newly-minted probationary special agent at the NIS office in Panama. He shares a past with Gibbs (Austin Stowell), and in the episode, the two must resolve their mutual tensions while going undercover for a case.

The episode strongly focuses on Pride but also reunites the Fed Five task force — a team of exceptional NIS agents once known for exposing serial killer Spencer Hanlon in season eleven of the original NCIS.
