Het Roer Om is a Dutch reality program which aired on SBS 6. The series premiered on August 30, 2021.
In the new program we follow some Dutch families, who leave the Netherlands for good to pursue their dream abroad.
The families all have their own dream: from a campsite of a 5-star resort to a bed & breakfast of a horse breeding farm. Abroad they have to get used to the new language, they do everything they can to get permits and they try to make renovations run smoothly. Of course, they also face various setbacks.
In each episode a family comes to bed. We follow Frank and Jean Carlos and their two foster sons, who want to turn an old mansion in Andalusia into a guest house. Gaby and Jerry leave for Portugal with their two sons to start a camping site. ICT'ers Sonja in Patrick hope to turn an old hotel in the French Dordogne into a luxurious 5-star resort.
