Became interesting in episode 3 when the story is about grandfather Armand Hammer. Quote "He was the most Satanic man of the second half of the 20th century. In terms of corrupting the political process, controlling people & making them dance his tune." In short, this man had a big finger in the political pie. If he had taken a different direction in his life, history would have been very different.
