The overwhelmingly negative reactions on IMDB, American of course, are hard to understand. The flashbacks do contribute to the story. Best described I think as a combination of Gomorrah and Breaking Bad, without equaling those 2 toppers.

It's amazing that this show gets such high ratings. It's a mess. There are so many storylines crammed into this show that it goes off the rails. And it also has very mediocre acting and direction. And is it really necessary to zoom in on that hook arm every 2 shots...
