Corona crisis; which series to watch? Dave Scholting's top 5

It has become a well-known image, empty supermarket shelves, empty squares and shopping malls. People work from home or not at all. How can you spend that time? We have made a top 5 displaying series you could watch in these peculiar times.

The last few weeks sort of take me back to the olden days. As most of us are 'forced' to stay at home, we can once again watch a lot of television. Great time to watch loads of series!! But there's a lot to watch these days. Which series should you watch? These are the five that I recently discovered.

5.After Life

Ricky Gervais, you love his humour, or you don't. After Life revolves around a man who wants to commit suicide after his wife dies. However, there is always something that keeps him from doing just that. This series has the darkest kind of humour and somehow also manages to be sensitive. The second season is set to release in April.

4.Why Woman Kill

Three women who live in the same house in three different decades all have to deal with unfaithful husbands. You may suspect it already, but that mistrust can have some dire consequences.... From the creative mind of Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives). Good actors and funny situations in a colourful series. A second season has already been ordered by CBS All Access.

3.House of Cards (2013)

A modern classic. That's the right way to talk about House of Cards (2013). Kevin Spacey is brilliant as Frank Underwood. BRILLIANT! One political plot twist after another. This series consists of six seasons, but Kevin Spacey was fired after the fifth. Have I already said how brilliant Kevin Spacey was in this role?

A man and a women are on a lovely date. The next day the woman accuses the man of rape. He claims to be innocent. Who is telling the truth and who is lying? An exciting thriller series, which is currently airing its second season on ITV.

Eight strangers from different places around the world are all connected. A Netflix series that displays how all of us humans are connected, no matter where we live. A series about love, respect, acceptance and a lot more topics about humanity, coated in a bit of science fiction. Sense8 has a compelling, positive message. My absolute number one recommendation for these days, especially when we need each other more than usual.

Have you already seen all of these series, or do none of them appear to be interesting? Here are some more cool series that I've discovered over the past couple of months; Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, The Boys, Unbelievable, The Crown and Stranger Things. Have you also seen all of those? Don't you worry, there will be more top-five lists coming soon.
