Paramount+ orders drama series Stags about a bachelor party gone wrong

Paramount+ has teamed up with Sex Education producer Eleven to create a series about a bachelor party that ends with the partygoers in jail.
Filming has begun on the original British series Stags and stars Nico Mirallegro (Spy/Master), Charlie Cooper (This Country) and Asim Chaudhry (People Just Do Nothing).

Other members of the ensemble cast include Corin Silva (SAS: Rogue Heroes), Sophie Lenglinger, Paul Forman (Emily in Paris), Jojo Macari (The Irregulars), Cavan Clerkin (The Last Kingdom), Paulina Galvez (The Purge) and Oscar Foronda (Gåsmamman).

14380 Stags cast

Here’s the log line: “The six-part series follows groom-to-be Stu (Mirallegro) and his friends on his stag do in South America. What was meant to be a week of drink, debauchery and fun takes a dark turn. Instead of boarding a flight back to the UK, the stags are sent to a lawless prison island run by two warring siblings.

“Quickly it becomes clear that the stags need to pick a side to have any chance of survival. Friendships are tested and life-long loyalty is sacrificed as Stu and his mates begin to question who will make it home alive.”

BAFTA winner David Kerr (Man vs Bee) is the lead director, while Daniel Cullen (Breeders, Bad Sisters) is the series' creator and co-executive producer.

The executive producers are Carissa Hope Lynch, Joel Wilson, Olivia Trench and Jamie Campbell. Kerr is also an executive producer for the series and Farah Abushwesha is a producer. Sony Pictures Television will distribute the series internationally.

Sebastian Cardwell, UK Deputy Chief Content Officer for Paramount, has greenlit the series.
