Taraji P. Henson working on Empire spin-off

Taraji P. Henson (Person of Interest) is working on a new spin-off of Empire, which is part of her new deal with 20th Century Fox TV. Due to the coronavirus, the sixth and final season of Empire was cut short. Even though Empire has now ended, it is likely that fans will not have to miss the world for all that long. Taraji P. Henson (Person of Interest) is working on a spin-off of the musical dramedy. The story will revolve around the character of Taraji P. Henson, Cookie Lyon. There have been some rumours regarding this for quite some time.

Taraji P. Henson is working alongside Christine Conley (Prison Break) on the new series. Danny Strong (Proven Innocent) and Lee Daniels (Star) came up with Empire, which premiered in 2015 and was ended with its sixth season this year. The spin-off will be written by Danny Strong, Stacy A. Littlejohn (Dirty John) and Yolonda Lawrence (Riverdale).
