Surprising series, a bit like Black Mirror.
Started off very interesting with the discovered alien signal.
Furthermore, it remains a mystery how this scientifically arrived at, and by that I'm referring to the contamination. Warning: spoilers below:
I'm guessing the signal is some kind of mRNA code they recreated in the lab as a virus for testing on animals. A minor accident (with that rat) then infected the entire world population. This sounds a bit like a "black swan event" or a Fermi paradox, where humanity is seen as a (too) great threat, and this is a measure to curb humanity's aggression and belligerence. I'm just making this up, but it's very similar. So I'm really looking forward to the next episodes!
