While HBO has Ray Donovan in its range, USA Network has William P. Rush. The only difference between the two is that Ray tries to solve things by shooting people, while Rush does this by taking up a needle and thread to sew things back together. So you can actually see Rush as Ray with a doctor's degree. If you have no idea who Ray Donovan is, then all of the foregoing probably doesn't make sense. For which my apologies. The advantage is that you can add not one, but two series to your to do list. You know those birthday parties where there's always someone with a vague acquaintance who works in the emergency room and has to fish strange objects out of the poopers of unfortunate bums with some regularity. Of course there is nothing more embarrassing than having to report yourself to the OLVG reception with a broken cucumber in your 12-finger intestine. If you don't feel like this kind of degrading situation and there is still a pack of euro notes in a drawer at home somewhere with a rubber band around it, you can call Rush. Rush is a doctor and fixes all your ailments for a considerable fee and is also very discreet about it. It will not surprise you that the service he provides ensures that he ends up in all kinds of strange situations and that is nice television. What's also nice is that after watching every episode you have that song by Paula Abdul in your head all day long. Hearts for Paula and her birthmark. At least I do.
