Sanditon renewed with its second and third season by PBS

PBS has acquired the rights of Sanditon from ITV, which cancelled the series after its first season. PBS then decided to renew the drama series with its second and third season. In 2019, Sanditon premiered on ITV. Last year, the series aired in the US and there, it was received well. ITV still decided to cancel the series. Masterpiece at PBS has now acquired the production rights of the series. It came with an order for two more seasons, which means that we'll at least have a second and third season of Sanditon.

Sanditon tells the tale of the impulsive, tough and unconventional Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams, Reign (2013)). By accident, she ends up in a so-called shore resort after leaving her birth town Willingdon. She is exposed to the intrigues and cunningness of a shore resort and here, she finds love. Sanditon is based on the book by Jane Austen that was never finished.
