Such a shame that many people are going to compare the series of shadowhunters with the books and the film. Yes it is based on the story. But if you can look at the series like how the series is alone. Shadowhunter is really a good series. Definitely worth a look.

When I heard about this series, I immediately went to watch! However, I have not been so disappointed in the filming of a series ... The acting of Clary (played by McNamara) has so little conviction that after two episodes I get irritated by her voice. Her true love Jace (Sherwood) does not give the sparks that belong to a love story as we know from better series such as Vampire Diaries. In summary: after two episodes, Clary has completely turned her mind about Jace. While in the first episode Clary still finds him arrogant, senseless and bossy, within 24 hours she understands why this is and forgives him for these nasty personality traits. Now not all blame can be placed on the actors themselves. After seeing the first episode, I felt like seeing the 2013 movie again, just in less time. And where I had hoped that the series would go slower in the story, it goes faster. This makes the series feel way too forced ... Very unfortunate! This is a book series of which 6 books have been published. It certainly wouldn't have been a bad thing if it had taken a little more time to master the story first. Personally, I am going to put the books on my e-reader instead of viewing the series.

Despite the fact that I was disappointed that the series does not go the way the movie went, I still think it is a very nice series. It takes some getting used to that the storyline is different, but I never got bored. However, I am still with the film in my head all the time when I watch the series. Now seen a number of episodes but I am very curious about the rest!

unlike others, I think this is a good series. I have also read the books myself and think that the series fits very well. I do agree that the acting could be better now and then, but otherwise I am very positive about the series!

Still follow the series because I love the books and the movie. However, compared to the movie it was a disappointment. The orange-watered hair and the profusion of make-up of the lead actress is irritation number 1 followed by her poor acting performance. In any case, think that all the actors have an unrealistic over-styled 'sexy clothes and just off the hairdresser' look. I'm used to that by now and the script is good enough to keep watching it. I don't care that it doesn't exactly follow the books. Book-based TV shows and movies never do. Read that there will be another S2. Probably will be the last season I think.

I like the series much more than the movie. Jace in the series is also much more fun than the one in the movie;) Too bad we have to wait a while for the last season.
