Stateless is a six-part drama series that was written for the Australian broadcaster ABC and produced by, among others, Cate Blanchett. The six episodes of approximately 50 minutes focus on the lives of four people who do not know each other but meet each other in the Barton refugee reception camp. Cam Sandford is a guard who recently started working there, Clare Kowitz is the camp's dedicated general manager, Ameer an Afghan refugee and Sofie Werner an Australian woman with German roots who is on the run from a bizarre cult she has been a member of for a while. has been. The series tells an impressive story and gives a very good picture of what it means to be a refugee and the sometimes heartbreaking decisions faced by the leaders of the camp. I think it's one of the best Australian drama series ever made and it made a deep impression on me. It is disturbing, moving, painful and at times uncomfortable, but it is also a story that I think needs to be told. It gives a very good picture of the background why someone flees or wants to become invisible and on the other hand what problems the people who work in those camps face. Yvonne Strahovski plays Sofie Werner and I thought it was impressive how she does it. In addition, Asher Keddie, Fayssal Bazzi and Jai Courtney play the other leading roles. The culvert couple is played by Cate Blanchett and Dominic West. The story is based in part on actual events.
