Great series. I read the book it's based on years ago. Maybe I should reread it, but from what I can remember the story is pretty good.
There are definitely elements of "The Thing" in this series. Who can be trusted and who can't and how do you find out. Fine tension and here and there also some horror elements, although they don't dominate very much.
There will need to be a second season to really finish the story. Hopefully this series will be granted that as well.
