S02E10 was again very entertaining. The story immediately reminded me of the episode "The Inner Light" of Star Trek TNG (https://www.mijnserie.nl/star_trek_the_next_generation/afleveringen/seizoen_5/aflevering_25). But that's not bad. I must say that I like the stories more and more, although I do get the feeling that many episodes are strongly inspired by Star Trek stories, for example.
And it might just be me, but I also think the actors are really good at their roles now. There are still some exceptions, but overall the acting has improved a lot compared to last season. A very nice season so far and I am very curious to see how it will continue when they arrive at Trappist.
Fifteen minutes into the pilot I actually wanted to turn it off. How many clichés can you say in 15 minutes? I just stopped counting. There was really nothing original in it. The CGI was at times on "Steamboat Willie" level, it was so bad. And, let me be kind, the actors still clearly have to "get into their roles". Actually, there was little to enjoy that first episode. Still, I also watched the second one (I already had it) and it got a little bit better. I'm going to give the series one more chance with episode 3. Actually purely because of Dean Devlin. Hopefully it will be something more, because the story itself has possibilities. We will see.
This series has grown tremendously throughout the season. It became more and more fun to watch. And now on to the second season. There is a cliffhanger, so it's nice that the story continues.
Series from the Syfy channel are not known for their high quality, but there is rarely a series that is bad. The Ark is also one of those series. I miss the risk in the storyline a bit, which makes everything fall into place too well, which makes it boring in some cases. That in combination with bad acting means that you occasionally have to roll your eyes or laugh at everything that is stupid. But as several people say in the comments, you keep watching. The CGI isn't top-notch, but it's enough to convince you that it's set in space. The series also benefits from not taking itself too seriously. I'm looking forward to the 2nd season.
The series has surprised me positively. Season 2 is another gem. This season is in my eyes much(!) stronger than season 1. Nice and simple, lots of creativity and again they don't take themselves too seriously. Also there is more risk in the story since the previous season and they are not afraid to lose people.
As Rob points out below, the acting is much better. Except for Samantha Glassner (Kelly), but we'll take that for granted.
The storyline when she arrived at Trappist was mediocre and felt very rushed but considering the last 2 minutes of the episodes there is still a lot to happen. I do think it's a shame that they were split up. As far as I'm concerned, they should all have stayed on board.
Nice to read that I'm not the only one who thinks this way :-) And now we can only hope that the series will be renewed, because a whole new story is about to begin.
I also find it a bit strange that they split up. Then we will get two storylines? And we have become quite accustomed to this crew. So I am very curious how they are going to handle that.
I have a very strange love/hate relationship with this series. Actually, I don't think it's all that good at all. But I'm still curious to see how things will continue. So somehow I keep watching...
Hmm, the first episode of The Ark didn't impress me much. It's a story we've seen in many other shows (it's basically The 100 in space) with a lot of cliché characters. I thought both the writing and acting were mediocre, but I'll give it a chance. Hopefully it will get better in the next episodes.
After a somewhat difficult start of this series last year, I am now watching the second season with great pleasure. Again nice stories and a reasonably exciting thread.

The series remains pleasantly refreshing in this way.
